- behind the
lens -
Hey there, thank you for dropping by. My name is Alexandre Latour and this is my website where I share my photography with you.
I never thought I would one day get into photography. Truth is, I have traveled to dozen of countries, from the majestic pyramids of Egypt to the complexities of the Angkor Temple in Cambodia without no actual photos to show.
My journey as a photographer started when I first developed an interest for underwater photography as a scuba diver and freediver. At the beginning I had a particular interest in shooting portraits both on land and underwater but later realized that what I enjoyed taking photos of things that I find interesting or enjoyed doing.
I take much pride in keeping my photography style simple. I use mostly compact or micro four thirds cameras with very little photo editing, and not afraid to shoot in jpeg when lighting permits. That is to say how much confidence I have in my photography skills, and besideslLife is too short to spend hours editing photos on a computer.
My go to underwater camera is the Olympus TG5 and my favorite lenses for land photography are the 90mm for portraits and 50mm for general use.
Today I share my time between Mauritius, Indi and Zanzibar.
